**Luna Mosaic Arts will email you 30 days before the workshop to let you know the status of the workshop and send you the invoice for the balance remaining.  We recommend that you do not make any non-refundable travel arrangements until we contact you.  When you register and only pay the deposit, you will be sent an invoice to pay the remaining balance due. If you would like to pay the balance earlier then that please email us and we will be more then happy to send you your invoice.

Description: Mosaic Art 101!  In this workshop you will learn about different tools, materials and adhesives that are commonly used in mosaic art.  You will get to work on an 8x8" or 7x9" mosaic, that will be started on the first day.  You will get to take the piece home and work on it during the week. Then the following Saturday you will grout the piece. Tools will be available to bring home. This workshop was created for beginners that are not sure which material they want to start with, or which materials and tools to use for different projects.  We will cover a variety of different materials and techniques.  We will also go over different types of andemento and finishing choices. 

Once you sign up start thinking of what kind of mosaic you might want to create!  If you are unsure, no worries, I will have several different designs to choose from. Keep it simple so you can finish it.  This workshop isn't about making a master piece, it's about trying new things and getting use to the tools and materials!

About the Instructor: Cherie Bosela

Cherie has been creating art since she was a kid (sometimes to the detriment of her parents’ furniture and walls).  She learned photography from her dad and took her first photography class in high school. Then continued with the medium all through college. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Art. During college, she learned about Antoni Gaudí, an architect who used mosaic in his work throughout Barcelona, Spain, she knew right away this was what she wanted to do. The very first mosaic she made was from a kit, and it ended up in the garbage. Not happy with her results, she bought a few books about mosaics and started playing around with different types of tesserae.  Then she started playing with her photography under the glass. She has been creating mosaics since 2000.

Her artwork has been included in exhibits at The Museum of Glass in Tacoma, WA, 1st Thursdays at the Orlando Museum of Art, Mayor’s Gallery in Orlando’s City Hall, BSA Space in Boston and The Parthenon in Nashville, just to name a few. And you can also see her at several of the local art festivals. She has won several awards for her mosaic artwork.
